In a world where cell phones can be crucial for communicating and accessing information, most preppers take steps to make sure they have this resource available as long as possible. You probably have multiple chargers, a car charger, a small battery bank, and maybe even a solar charger. But if you take all those away, could you still find a way to charge your phone?

Check out this video from Grant Thompson to learn how to make an emergency phone charger from a few items you probably already have in your garage.

Many experienced hikers and explorers know about how to survive. But for the less experienced ones, preparing for emergency situations and knowing what tools are essential, can be a daunting task.

And in this day and age, we are so dependent on technology that our mobile phone is now one of the most important survival tools. If your mobile phone runs out of battery, and you have no emergency phone charger, this means having access to your phone would be a huge problem. A phone is:

  • a connection to the world
  • a way of killing time
  • a means of looking for answers and calling for help
  • a way of finding yourself on a map
  • a means to call 911

On top of it all, it is a good idea to keep an emergency phone charger in your survival kit, something that is efficient at maintaining its own charge for longer periods of time. It gives you with a sense of comfort knowing that you will be able to ask for help whenever necessary.

You would not know where you are going to be when trouble happens. You could be in the car, you could be walking down the road, you could be on a bridge. Your preparation only makes a difference if you have it when you need it the most.
