How to Make Commercial Grade Hand Sanitizer

President Trump has officially declared the coronavirus pandemic a national emergency.

Now that the virus has hit the U.S., people are scrambling to make sure they’re prepared. If you’ve headed to the store in the past few weeks, you will have seen the supplies quickly disappear.

And now with the threat at an all time high, running to the stores for last minute supplies is the last thing you should do. But hey, it’s 2020, you can just head on over to Amazon, right?

You can, but that bottle of hand sanitizer that typically costs around $4, has been upped to $55!

Fortunately, you can make your own hand sanitizer at home that will be just as effective as Purell, and a fraction of the price.

How to Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer

Here’s a quick video to show you how it’s done:

Step by Step DIY Hand Sanitizer

So what will you need to make a hand sanitizer at home that can stand up to Purell?

Only 5 simple ingredients:

  • Water
  • GlycolTEA™
  • Carbomal80™
  • 99% Isopropyl Alcohol
  • Silacal945™

The recipe below should yield 3-4 bottles, or 12 travel sized.

Phase 1: Water Phase

In a blender combine:

  • 8 Ounces Water
  • 5 Drops GlycolTEA™
  • 1 TBS Carbomal80™

Blend for 15 seconds. This will cause your mixture to become a gel consistency- set this aside.

Phase 2: The Alcohol Phase

In a separate bowl combine:

  • 16 Ounces 99% Isopropyl Alcohol
  • 5 Drops Silacal945™

Stir and set aside.

Phase 3: Combining

In a bowl, pour alcohol solution into your water/gel solution and gently stir.

At this point, your solution might be a little cloudy, but that’s okay!

You’re going to want to let this sit for a total of 15 minutes.

Final Step

Add your hydrated hand sanitizer mixture into your blender and blend for 10 seconds.

That’s it! Then you can pour it into your containers and start using it.

Don’t be alarmed if your hand sanitizer is still on the cloudy side. Once it has set for a day or two, it will become more like the clear consistency you’re used to seeing in the store.
