The Essential Survival Skills You Didn’t Know You Needed – Spy Training With Expert Jason Hansen

Take a moment to consider these three situations –

  1. You’re locked out of your home and a storm is blowing in. No keys, no phone, no way inside.
  2. You’ve been kidnapped and your arms have been restrained with duct tape.
  3. You’re being robbed by someone claiming to have a gun behind their back, but you can’t tell if they’re telling the truth.

All 3 are life threatening situations, and yet most people – survivalists and preppers included – have no clue how to react. I don’t know about you, but my traditional survival training hasn’t prepared me for any of these situations. But if you think about it, having the skills to solve these problems couldn’t be more important.

So here we have former CIA officer Jason Hansen teaching you 3 hugely important survival skills that just might save your life one day.

How To Pick A Lock Like A Spy

Losing your keys – we’re all guilty of it. One careless moment and you’re effectively locked out of everything in your life. If you’ve ever been stranded outside your own house, count yourself lucky. Personally, I’ve been in this situation more times than I’m willing to admit. Once, the weather was so bad I had to resort to breaking a window out of my back door to get into my own house. Not fun and not cheap.

So this has me thinking, why in the world would I not know how to pick locks? It’s so easy to lose a key and lose access to something really important – and it’s not just doors. Desk drawers, filing cabinets, mailboxes, the list goes on. You don’t want to leave yourself high and dry in the case that you lose your keys. So the essential skill we all need and almost no one knows how to do – lock picking.

How To Escape Restraints

Kidnapping – hopefully it’s something that you will never experience. I can only imaging the fear of being abducted by criminal. The really scary thing to consider is how incredibly helpless you would feel with your hands bound being dragged around by your captor. You can’t defend yourself, you can’t even run.

And the most common thing criminals use to restrain their victims – DUCT TAPE. They think it’s indestructible. They think there’s no way for you to escape. They couldn’t be more wrong.

How To Be A Human Lie Detector

A HUGE factor when dealing with other people in a survival situation has to do with people being deceiving. Whether it’s a threat against your life or a promise of a favor – believing the wrong lie could make a life or death difference in the clutch. Deception can be your downfall – not just when the SHTF, but in everyday life.
