Product Review: The Mission Critical Baby Carrier
Becoming a parent doesn’t mean you have to give up your outdoorsman lifestyle. Mission Critical is a husband and wife owned business that specializes in survival gear for parents, especially dads.
The Mission Critical Baby Carrier is a front carry baby carrier that can comfortably hold a child between 8 and 35 pounds in both in and out seating positions. This Baby Carrier also features a unique and simple design that allows for even weight distribution from the front to the rear by attaching the Carrier Daypack to the Baby Carrier in order to help alleviate pain in the neck, shoulders, and back and ensure better posture. The Mission Critical Baby Carrier also features:
- 1000D nylon military grade fabric and construction
- YKK zippers
- MOLLE webbing for accessory attachments
- Meets ASTM F2236-14 regulations for Baby Carriers
- Sewn in and storable Sun Shield
- Fits children approx 8 – 35 lbs
- Weighs only 36.5oz
Mission Critical Baby Carrier: Advantages
The first obvious advantage that the Mission Critical Baby Carrier offers over other baby carriers is the MOLLE webbing. The MOLLE webbing found on the front can attach accessory and utility pouches that are great for storing phones, keys, a wallet, or even additional face wipes. Second is the built in sun shield that can be found inside the zipper pocket on the front of the baby carrier. The sun shield unravels to meet perfectly at the shoulder straps and is fastened by two buttons that help keep both hands free while providing shade for the little one.
Another great advantage is the removable liner inside the carrier that can be washed in case of an accident.
Finally, the greatest advantage the Mission Critical Baby Carrier offers over other baby carriers is the MOLLE webbing that can be found on the back plate of the carrier itself. This MOLLE webbing is designed specifically for the Mission Critical Carrier Daypack but will hold virtually any accessory, utility, or modular pouch. The design of the Mission Critical Carrier Daypack however is made to ensure that weight is equally distributed from the front and the back.
Baby Carrier Setup
The Mission Critical Baby Carrier has been engineered and simplified to just four easy steps in order to safely place on and secure a child as opposed to the many steps that are needed from other baby carriers. The first step includes placing the carrier on. The simplest way is to leave one waist buckle open and place the carrier over your shoulder and head securing it as it comes over. The second step includes unbuckling the shoulder buckles and leg buckles to the carrier itself than hoisting the child in place. The third step is securing the child by buckling both shoulder and leg buckles back into place. Finally the last step to the Mission Critical Baby Carrier is the leg straps. Ensure that both the child’s legs are secure by pulling over the leg straps onto the lower front buttons.
It is worth mentioning that if you want to attach an accessory pouch to the front of the Mission Critical Baby Carrier, you should be sure to not store too many items as to minimize the amount of weight carried on the front. A pouch large enough to contain keys, a wallet, or even a phone will keep both hands free and still allow important possessions to be within hand's reach. If the Mission Critical Carrier Daypack has not already been purchased then be sure to wear a backpack as to compensate for the weight carried on the front. The Mission Critical Baby Carrier retails for $195.00 and ships the same day as ordered.
