I do not believe the Life Straw is capable of filtering out toxins in the water though, and drinking out of a river or any other water source that may contain chemicals from pesticides, fertilizers, etc would be dangerous. Unless the Life Straw has a charcoal filter as well and I don’t believe it does. The Life Straw is strictly to filter-out bacteria. Also, urine is usually safe as it is usually sterile anyway. Yuk! I have several Life Straws, a great product, but need to advise on it’s limitations as well.
