I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Stevens at the Self-Reliance Expo in Colorado Springs, CO a a few years ago and again in Dallas, TX several months later.

I thumbed through this book at his stand while speaking with him and I have to say I was impressed at the amount of knowledge that was condensed into this book.

The title of his book, “Making The Best Of Basics,”does not do it justice.

It is far more than just the “Basics.”

As I spoke to him, I realized he was the real deal.

James has been actively Prepping for over 40 years and is extremely knowledgeable on all things prepper.

His calm demeanor and outward appearance belies the extent of his skills in survival and homesteading.

He spoke at length about his homestead and all of the preparations that he has undertaken to make sure that he and his wife are fully prepared, no matter what.

The fact that this book has sold over 800,000 copies since its first publication should allow this book to stand on its own merits.

After meeting and speaking with James, I wanted to make sure that you and everyone you know has a copy of his book, regardless of if you are a beginner or if you have been prepared for almost 40 years (much like James himself).

The book is simply written, and has tons of information that would suit anyone of any age.

A hard copy of the book is something that I highly consider to be a “must have” in ever preppers library.

But for those of you that are a little more tech savvy, the online version offers a fantastic database of survival information, recipes, and how to's that would never fit into a book ( last time I checked I think there were well over 1,000 additional articles online.)

Making the Best of Basics contains just about everything you need to learn in order to survival It has the big three subjects; water, food, and shelter.

It also contains hundreds of homesteading recipes that will keep you from suffering appetite fatigue in any crisis.

Read it, learn it, come back to it later, or simply pass it on to a loved one.

This book is a very informative powerhouse of survival skills and knowledge.

If you are ever at one of the self reliance expo's or anything else where James or “Doctor Prepper” is set to make an appearance, be sure to stop by and tell him hello for me!

P.S. If you or someone you know is new to prepping, this could be a fantastic jump start for them.

If you don't already own a copy of this book, I suggest you pick one up now.
