This news story is a little old, but we just came across it and couldn’t believe our ears.
Last year, a high school student named David was suspended from school for ten days and told to transfer to an alternative high school. His crime? Driving his father’s car to school with a knife inside.
David was chosen for a “random search” by the local sheriff’s department, who found the knife inside. Despite David’s explaining that the knife belonged to his father, a fisherman, David was told that the blade violated school policy. He was then suspended, and may be facing charges.
