It's an age-old debate among gun owners: is concealed carry or open carry best?
Fans of open carry like others to know that they are armed, and feel more confident and safer knowing that their gun is readily available. On the other hands, concealed carry advocates like to have the element of surprise on their side.
So which is best? It's hard to say, and ultimately it's up to the individual gun owner. But here are some thing to keep in mind when deciding whether to carry concealed or open.

- Avoid unwatned conversations about your decision to carry (since no one knows you're carrying)

Cons
- Slower draw time
- Risk of accidental discharge
- No one knows you're armed, so it will not deter potential attackers
Open Carry
Pros
- Quicker draw time
- Less likely to be attacked since would-be criminals know you're armed
- Helps spread awareness about responsible gun ownership
Cons
- Draws attention
- Easier for someone to take your firearm
- Intimidating to others
- May invite unwelcome conversation/criticism
- Only legal in 31 states
As you can see, there are plenty of pros and cons for both concealed and opened carry. Which one you choose is ultimately up to you and the laws of your state.
