Many people have already experienced power outages, leaving them without a source of heat or light…

Of course, as preppers we know to always be prepared for these situations with flashlights, candles, lighters, matches, extra blankets and other supplies.

Still, there are times when even we are caught off guard and aren't as prepared as we should have been. (Hey, it happens to the best of us.)

But don't fret. Even in those sticky situations, you can make makeshift light and heat sources using items around the house.

    Here’s an eighth consideration during a blackout. For those who get their water from a well, you may want to check out the Emergency Well Tube. This backup tool allows water to be drawn from a well without electricity. There’s virtually an endless supply of water right on your property, it’s important to maintain access to that water!
