This was one time you didn't have to worry whether the belt on sale at the flea market was made from genuine leather. It was still moving.

Shoppers Flee the Flea Market

A 7-foot Burmese python was found hiding in a heap of clothing at the outdoor flea market in Homestead, Florida on Sunday morning. It was reportedly digesting and curled up for a cozy post-feast nap, according to UPI.

A customer discovered the reptile while sifting through the clothes, according to WPLG Local 10. She alerted the shop keeper, who called the Miami Dade Fire Department.

“It’s a good thing she didn’t grab it,” Lt. Scott Mullen told the Miami Herald. Burmese pythons aren't venomous, but they boast more than 100 sharp teeth. The serpent is common in the area at this time of year.

Mullen gently removed the sleepy beast and passed it off to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Hopefully, the customer got a discount for her troubles.
