Finding a really great self defense weapon for a lady is more difficult than it sounds. The female body curves differently than the male body, so concealing a weapon, especially a handgun can prove to be difficult. Hauling around a bulky weapon in a purse is also not the best or safe solution. Whether at home or on the go, we ladies need options when it comes to female-friendly self defense. We decided to compile a few of our favorite self defense weapons and guns for women that are light and easily concealable, no matter what the occasion.

1. Smith & Wesson M&P Shield | Compact Handgun

I have been trying to get my hands on this handgun for quite some time – they are always flying off the shelves. The Shield is a palm-size, slim-and-trim lightweight handgun. It is easily concealable at only six inches long, 4½ inches high, less than an inch thick and weighing just 19 ounces.

The Shield is designed specifically for concealed carry, whether in a slim-line holster or a purse. Many law enforcement officers have begun carrying this handgun as backup. It can serve either as a primary citizen-carry tool or a full-power, no-compromise backup for off-duty law enforcement officers.

2. Kimber Pepper Blaster II | Pepper Spray

null

Many pepper sprays are bulky and not very convenient to carry, but the Kimber Pepper Blaster is slim enough to conceal right in your pocket. It is also a gel solution rather than an aerosol spray, with a much longer shelf life than typical pepper sprays.

3. Paracord Monkey Fist

null

A paracord monkey fist is beneficial to carry on you for survival and self defense purposes. It’s super easy to conceal and carries enough power to slow down any attacker. Trust us, you don't want to be on the other end of one of these guys.

4. Gerber Ridge Open Assist Knife

null

The Gerber Ridge is a great self defense knife for women. It is just a little taller than a tube of lipstick, and lightweight weighing only 1.5 ounces. Featuring a serrated high carbon stainless steel blade. Easy one-handed opening makes this knife quickly accessible, while maintaining a liner lock system to ensure it opens only when you want it to.

5. Taser Strike Light | Stun Gun

null

A stun gun is a great alternative for those that don't feel comfortable toting a handgun. We love the Taser Strike Light because it integrates a flashlight for extra protection at night.
