Do You Blame The Bullet?

Published

on

I am sickened and I am saddened.

I want to first and foremost say that my heart goes out to the victims of the shooting in Connecticut.

The actions of Adam Lanza were despicable.

There is absolutely no excuse for him to have cut short the lives of those 20 children causing them to forfeit their chance to make an impact on this world.

Those 20 children and the brave teachers lost their lives tragically and the impact will be forever felt in the irreparable scars left on the survivors.

My Wife sat in tears in the passenger seat of our car as the story unfolded and I was left in shock as she relayed the events to me.

This was a terrible act that sent shock waves through the country. There is no contesting that.

What sickens me the most about it is that, just like with any tragedy, the media and politicians don’t spare a moment in finding a way to twist these monstrous acts to sell a story or advance their own agenda.

Let’s be clear, this was a tragedy committed by a person  with serious mental issues who did not understand the value of life, NOT a fallacy in gun control.

The gun was simply medium by which the act was committed, not the reason for the crime.

It is ridiculous to watch the paltry attempts at PR as stores like Wal-Mart and Dicks Sporting Goods remove the Bushmaster Rifle and other “modern sporting rifles” while the politicians rally to use the momentum of the media machine to push forward on new gun control laws.

Are we to blame a bullet for the act of a man?

Face it; gun control laws are only going to affect law abiding citizens. A drug dealer with a black market handgun is not suddenly going turn themselves in for violating a gun law.

As the story progresses, the spotlight is being turned to survivalists.  When news that Adam Lanza’s mother was an avid gun enthusiast and prepper broke, Gun sales spiked and the media is making it appear as though preppers are making a run on assault rifles in order to get them before they’re gone.

Now the acts of this one misguided person place him at the forefront of the general public’s mind when they think of prepping, turning the rest of us into pariah’s.

The future is ours to decide. Now we just have to figure out the right answer.

What will we do to turn the tide back in our favor?

Facts here are 3 local stores have sold 20+ ARs this week. Some sold 2-3 at a time, ALL ammo is gone. Weapons of every ilk are being bought and 2/3 of all calibers ammo has vacated the shelves. Major suppliers have sold out of all popular guns and ammo. It looks like a grocery rush before the impending massive snowstorm.

This was a military operation. This KID did NOT do this. Way to many discrepancies in the “OFFICIAL” story. Much like Aurora.
    1. I watched and heard and SAW on TV Officer Vance say the Bushmaster was in the trunk of the black vehicle outside the school. Only to later hear that same officer Vance say that the alleged “long gun” with 100’s of shells littered the 2 schoolrooms.
    2. I HEARD & SAW Officer Vance say that ONLY 2 9mm’s were found by the supposed body of Adam Lanza.
    3. I watched & heard them say that there were 2 others running around the back of the gym, this can be verified by the LIVE helicopter footage, and police radio scanners, by the person they had on the ground with hands handcuffed behind his back, by individual witnesses that heard this person say “I did’n do it”, to one of the young children at the firestation, who said they (the officers) had “someone down on the ground, with his hands handcuffed behind his back. They CANNOT tell me I DID NOT SEE THESE THINGS in the very early reports that were on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, CBS,NBC…I SAW it ALL, I can’t unsee or unhear what I heard & saw!
    4. To one of the valiant teachers, that locked and barricaded herself & the children inside one of the bathrooms, who within minutes of the shooting stopping, says “officers” came to the bathroom door and told her to open up, she did not comply. She said that she had already seen “several people” in what looked to be swat gear, before the shooting started. She DID NOT open the door, unless someone put a Police Badge under the door…THEY DID NOT show a Badge!!! My God people, wake up from your slumber, the MEDIA is lying to us again, just like 9/11, just like Olkahoma City, Just Like WACO…WAKE UP PLEASE!!!

    Hi Joe,

Since I didn’t directly answer your proposed question, as you can probably tell from my above post, You cannot blame an INANIMATE object, namely the “BULLET” for such an UNSPEAKABLE act of evil…But we had better start talking about this before it is MUCH MUCH too late.
It may already be Waaayyyy tooooo late!!
In case you’ve not heard it. Both the Aurora shooter, James Holmes’ father, who Runs FICO, and Adam Lanza’s father who is a bigwig at GE, were both set to testify about the LIBOR scandal…Coincidence…I think not.

Laws are only effective if a society has law abiding citizens. This man broke several laws:breaking and entering, burglary, disregarding the “weapon-free” school zone, felony assault with a weapon, and 27 counts of first degree murder. Which one of Connecticuts “laws” prevented him from these acts? Answer:NONE! Laws will never impede persons who feel that they are above the law, don’t like the law, or are mentally incapable of obeying the law. You cannot legislate morality or sanity. Adding additional laws is not now and never will be the answer. What it will do is add onerous chains to the ones who do not break the law:the law abiding and conscientious firearm owners. As to demonizing a particular type of firearm you might just as well categorize one of the jacked-up,giant tired, monstrous grilled pick-ups as an “assault truck” or a Corvette,Mustang, or Charger as a “high-capacity vehicle!” It is sheer lunacy to blame an inanimate object used by a human being to inflict injury or death on another. The will, intent and purpose of the act were human conceived and human directed. Until the plethora of current “gun control laws” are vigorously enforced and harshly prosecuted (which the NRA consistently DEMANDS) then twisted individuals of this nature will continue to wreak mayhem against humanity!

Will we debate “gun control” which obviously did not do anything useful the last time it was made a law? Or how about a law prohibiting assault with a deadly weapon, homicide etc. that surely would work.
Now back to reality. The question should be how do we protect ourselves, especially our children,. Look at the country’s that have had successful programs and note what they did. Do we have the wit and will to follow their example? Are we tired of political posturing ? Do we keep repeating the last failed programs which feel good but don’t’ work? Do we listen to politicians who have no idea which end of the gun to hold and if it’s black call it an “assault rifle” even if it is not ?
Israel is surrounded by people who would copy the Newtown atrocity…but it has not happened. Switzerland has full automatic/semi auto real assault rifles in just about every home, but no school shootings. These places have successfully handled the potential problems. Note also their airliners are much safer.
THE SUBJECT IS HOW TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND OUR CHILDREN…..NOT HOW TO RESURECT SOME FAILED SILLY, FEEL GOOD,USELESS “GUN CONTROL” LEGISLATION !!!!!!!!!!!
(Even the ” control” advocates who crafted the last law and thought themselves quite capable agreed that it did not work)
SWITZERLAND AND ISRAEL HAVE SOME ANSWERS !
    GO LOOK THERE, PLEASE……

I say we also make all government offices, the congress building, white house, etc, as “gun free zones,” including the “zone” around their persons. After all, aren’t they all “safe” under those conditions? We’ll see how quick these sorry excuses for humanity change their minds about these “safe zones.”

I may upset a lot of people with my views but as a shooter in the UK I do have the right to put them to this excellent forum. How did the gunman in the horrific tradagy get hold of the weapons? He took them from his mother who had left them unsecured. The very least that shoudl come out of this is legislation to make it illegal to have your weapon anywhere else but on your person or locked in a secure area.
Now lets look at gun shows in some states. One can by a firearm in many states by just producing a drivers licence. No check as to whether the purchaser has mental health issues, domestic violence situation or is a convicted fellon. The very least that coudl be done is to require all buyers to produce a certifcate showing they are free of violent fellonies.
yes you have your 2nd ammendment but surely a right to bare arms is provisional on the citizen being of good character and sound mind. Even when your ancesters fought mine i doubt they woudl of given a convicted highwayman or retired a musket.

The Connecticut shooting was another example of the fact that the most vulnerable members of our society are protected the least. I’m for armed guards in schools, electroinc door locks, security fences, whatever it takes to make our kids safe, and I don’t blame guns for this. I blame a society that allows bond issues to build multi-million dollar sports arenas and gyms at schools, but will not pay for an armed security guard’s wages during school hours.

The tragedy of this is bad enough but it shows how demented and despicable this administration is to use it further their agenda. The un American and treasonous activities of those who are pushing this and the media are ignoring the real reason for this which is the SSRIs. There are over 4000 incidents of children turning violent after being medicated. Anybody that has children in the public fool system are at risk. There are other safer and non toxic ways to deal with them. Just listen to the remedy for the disease of the month ads on TV and the side effects which are worse than the original problem.
I think that the real reason for the violent behaviour is being ignored and I hope that people who read this consider the dangers of these meds if their kids are being prescribed them.
I have read articles on here that have opened my eyes and made me aware of conditions that needed to be addressed. I wrote this because I was on Ritilin and methylphenadate for ADHD. At first it helped a little it soon made simple tasks become longer and made me frustrated and angry. I quit taking it and it took several weeks to get over the effects. At that time ADHD was the new excuse for big pharma to generate profits and I watched many of my friends get that 1000 yard stare. If I had to do it over, I would have chosen differently.
