My name is Dave Scott and I make my own knives.
If you ever thought about making your own knives, this might be
one of the most interesting letters youve read in a long time. Over the
next few minutes Im going to do my best to convince you to be a knife
maker just like me.
I cant imagine a finer and more profitable hobby, and the pride from
showing off the knives that youve made is one of the coolest feelings on
earth.
So sit back, take just a few minutes, and read this short letter.
I think youll be glad you did.
Im
sure when you stumbled across this letter today you probably had no
idea that you might learn to make your own knives, but the truth
is, knifemaking is one of the greatest hobbies on earth.
Its also one
of the few skills you can learn that might actually save
your life someday.
With gun laws changing and personal liberties
being at an all-time low, I for one am glad I know how to make my
own weapons right inside the privacy of my own home.
Over the years Ive made knives, spears, cleavers, axes, tomahawks,
hatchets and even machetes. Most of the knives Ive made were created out of old scrap metal such as railroad spikes and old saw blades. In fact, one of the coolest knives I ever made in my life was made out of a spring from a
tractor.
Just to be clear, these arent funky old prison shanks Im making.
These are what most people consider craftsman collector blades, but my
big secret is, most only take a few hours to make.
There are a lot of reasons to start making your own knives:
- To learn a skill or an art that you can pass on to your children and grandchildren that will allow you to spend quality time with them.
- To make weapons that can protect yourself and your family in a real survival or an emergency preparedness situation.
- To have the pride of knowing that you made
something beautiful, useful, and completely unique that you can carry with
you every single day.
- To make extra money on the side selling these custom knives at gun shows or to friends and relatives.
I could talk forever about how cool it is to make
knives, but until youve felt that new knife in your hands, that you pounded out of something that used to be just an old piece of scrap iron,
you wont be able to feel the experience. So please read the rest
of this letter and learn how to become an avid knife maker like me…
(ABOVE: Shaping a knife from an old piece of steel scrap)
Thats a darn good question.
Ill answer it first by telling you how NOT to learn knife
making… The way I did it, by trial and error, wasting hours of
time, scrapping tons of good material, and living in frustration for
over a year.
Yep, if you dont have someone to show you the ropes, you can spend a full year learning how to make knives.
Or, as with most things, if you have an expert to show you the
way, you can master the entire knifemaking process in just a few hours
today… and I might even offer to be your mentor. Im willing to show you
every mistake that I made along the way and how I corrected it.
Im willing to teach you all the basics and fundamentals youll need to know to make your first knives.
Most of all, Im willing to show you all the tricks, hacks and
secrets that master knife makers use to shorten the knifemaking
process by as much as 90% while creating stunning results that most
ordinary crafters will never know.
Having someone like me teach you knifemaking is without a doubt the
fastest way I know to begin making beautiful knives right in your own
garage or workshop.

A few months ago one of my best
friends, Joe Marshall, whos the editor of the successful blog Survival Life called me up and said "Dave, a bunch of our people want to
learn to make knives, and rather than them screw up over and over again
I think theyd rather learn from your mistakes"
Joe is a pretty
smart guy and hard to argue with. So a few days later Joe sent
out his camera crew and we spent two days filming what I believe is the
best knifemaking course in the world.
During the course I show
everything that I know about knifemaking down to the little tricks,
hacks and tweaks that make my knives particularly unique.
Then, I make a complete knife on camera, step-by-step,
right in front of you. The only way that you can get better knifemaking training is if you stood inside my shop for a week and learned
it firsthand. But in a lot of ways I think this is even better.
With the videos you can go back and watch a part over and over
again if you dont understand it. The training is well-organized into
eleven different modules, and heres a bit of what you learn in each.

The
big secret that most knife makers dont want you to know, is that it just
aint that dang hard to make knives. The secret is in the
sequence. If you do everything in the right order, making a knife
is as easy as making a loaf of bread.
Its a formula, a recipe of sorts. Once you learn it, you cant unlearn it and its a skill youll have for the rest of your life.
You can teach it to your kids, your grandchildren,
your best friends or anyone else you want. In fact, I want you to
share these skills, thats the biggest reason Im doing this in the
first place.
Just imagine how much fun you can have in your workshop or garage with
your friends, or even your grandkids, making knives that theyll keep for the
rest of their lives. Youll never forget the experience of making them,
and theyll never forget you for showing them how.
So the short answer to your question is, its pretty doggone easy to learn how to make knives.
Im not going to stand here
and tell you that youll become a master knife maker overnight, that would
be a lie. But with a little bit of practice, and believe me youll
want to practice because youll be hooked, youll be making knives that
people will be drooling over. You can even sell these knives to make
extra money from within just a few weeks.
ABOVE: This knife was the first attempt of a 14 year old student with his dads help
Most
of my students will make their first blade within a few hours of
getting started. One thing I gotta tell you is that the first knife
youll make may not be the most beautiful knife youll ever make.
You should be making knives
youre proud enough to show off in a week or two, and in a few months
youll be making knives that you can even sell.
Once you start, you just cant stop.
While
a lot of my students make knives to sell, most just make them for fun,
gifts, and to show off. Knifemaking is all about the pride you take in
your work.
I dont talk about money
much but the truth is, once you know how to make knives, its pretty
easy to make $15-$30 an hour in your garage.
Frankly, I dont sell
many of my knives because I fall in love with them. I do give them as
gifts and there is nothing more personal.
Each knife you make is like a snowflake, no two are ever the same. Each
is a work of art and you will swell with pride the first time someone
says, "Can you make me one?"

steel
high quality blanks will get you up and running in no time. With these
blanks, you should be able to make your first knife, on your

the
simple instructions in the course.
These blanks alone usually sell for $56, but today theyre yours free as a bonus gift to you for trying my course.
BONUS #2 DIY Forge Plans & Videos
You cant make knives without heat, and when I got started I couldnt
afford to buy a forge so I made one out of a few fire bricks (available at any hardware store) and an old propane
tank. As my second bonus to you, Id like to give you my plans for your own
personal forge along with videos showing exactly how I built it.
Ive seen other guys online selling the plans and the videos for a
forge like this for about $40 bucks, but today, when you get the
Blademaster course, Ill give you these plans absolutely free along
with the step-by-step
videos.
BONUS #3 Spike Knife Course
Third, youre going to get my blacksmithing buddy Arams "Spike Knife" making course.
Would you believe the knives above were forged out of old rusty railroad
spikes that we got at a swap meet for fifty cents a piece? BTW Aram
sells these babies as fast as he can make them for $85 each.
He just sold 40 of them to a fancy steakhouse in LA (Cha-ching!) This
course normally sells for almost $70 by itself but today, its yours FREE!
If youll notice, those three bonuses alone are worth $166, more
than three times the cost of the course. Thats how much I really
want you to have this.

Just to wet your whistle a bit, take a look at what these knife makers
have said about their experience with knifemaking and our
training. Knifemaking really is the greatest hobby on Earth.
"I Love Knifemaking!"
I went to my first gun show, in Ruidoso, NM. I saw a table full of
custom knives, picked up a few, and thought, "I think I can do that."
After I got the training, I made my first 19 blades with files and sandpaper, then got a grinder.
Since I mostly write paperwork and "help people" for a living, I love
knifemaking because it gives me the chance to produce something
tangible. I can see my knifemaking progress on a daily basis, and I love
it.

"Knifemaking is an Obsession"
Woke up at 5 am and didnt wanna wake my neighbours by working in my shop.
SOOO I just started to reflect about why I make knives on a regular basis .
1. I love knifemaking and its great when there is steady progress
2. Its an obsession
3. Its fun to work with steel, wood,…
4. Sometimes its a pastime
5. Ambition
6. The dream of becoming a full time knife maker
Oh well, they need to wake up sometime.
Levi, Joplin, MO

"I Like Making Tools"
I like making tools. I like improving and being able to see the
improvement. I like hearing customers that got a good useful tool and
are happy.
I really like thinking that in 30 years I can make extra money making
knives during my retirement rather than having to greet people at
Wal-Mart.
Wal-mart sucks.

Okay,
I know by now if youve read this far you want to get the
training and the bonuses in the entire package. As you can see above,
this course with the bonuses has a real-world value over $250 but
today only, you can have the entire package, everything we talked about, for
the low price of just $47. Thats over 67% off the retail price!
Plus
Ill pay the shipping for your knife blanks anywhere inside the
continental United States. Now thats a ridiculous offer.
I
will be totally transparent with you here. I will not be selling
Blademaster for this price or offering these bonuses for very long.
Why?
Im only offering Blademaster
at $47 to get 500 people to test it, use it and help me make it
better. After that, the complete course on knifemaking will be raised to $197 and I will be taking away all of the bonuses.
You have to know that I cant possibly make any money at $47, Im
giving away $56 worth of knife blanks, plans for my forge, and
hours of high-quality HD video that cost a fortune to produce.
I hope that you want to be a part of this beta group so we can
build this training together. Im sure that Ill have some star
students that want to get involved in helping us teach and I welcome
that.
My first goal is to get more people into knifemaking so thats why Im offering this ridiculously low price.
If you wait till everythings perfect, all the Ts are crossed and the
Is are dotted, youll pay four times as much and you wont get the
bonuses. Dont say I didnt warn you.

Obviously, by giving you the knife blanks, my forge plans and two entire courses

it? Because I want to have 500 successful students go through the
course before I take it to the mass market.
In short, I want you guys to
help me make the course perfect. Ill be asking your opinions,
answering your questions, and expanding the course in real time.
When I feel like everything is perfect, Ill raise the price of
the course and do away with the bonuses. But today only, you can get a
great deal at $47, but you can also be part of the course. You will be

Remember, unlike everybody says, knifemaking is pretty easy. Ive shown

beginners are making knives on the very first day. You can get all the
training that you need, even your first two knife blanks free, and plans to
build your own personal forge so you can be a real knife maker.
